Gas Grade

Re: Gas Grade
OCTANE RATING
Select Octane Rating 87 (Research Octane Number 91) or higher.
Use of unleaded gasoline with an octane rating or research octane number lower than stated above will cause persistent heavy knocking. If it is severe, this will lead to engine damage.
If your engine knocks...
If you detect heavy knocking even when using the recommended fuel, or if you hear steady knocking while holding a steady speed on level roads, consult your Toyota dealer.
However, occasionally, you may notice light knocking for a short time while accelerating or driving up hills. This is normal and there is no need for concern.

Re: Gas Grade
Low lead regular will work fine and your TCH is designed for it.
More important is the use of "Top Tier" gasolines, which contain additives for your engine that have been review and endorsed by Toyota and several other major manufacturers. There are posts on "Top Tier" in this forum.
For myself, I use Shell 87 Octane, as I have evaluated various Top Tier fuels and have concludded over multiple tests that Shell provides better FE -- at least in my own operating area. If you search the web with text "Shell Gasolines" you can find several articles from 2003 when Shell announced a new Top Tier formulation designed to specifically provide improved mileage. Re: Gas Grade
I pulled into a gas station a few months ago and said "fill it up no lead" and the guy reminded me that they haven't sold leaded gasoline for decades! Getting old is fun!

Re: Gas Grade
I try to use Shell and Chevron with an occasional dropdown to our local friend's gas pump. I really like Shell and will do my best to get that first. Octane 87 my Camry perfers.
