Hill Start Control Works!

Re: Hill Start Control Works!
Hmm, odd that only me has had any success. I actually made a point of stopping at a stop sign on a uphill road today cuz I've seen so many "doesn't work" comments. Traffic was light, so I waited a couple of seconds with my foot firmly on the brake (I'm pretty sure the car has to be completely stopped, foot on brake, car in D for this to work). I looked out the side window for reference then let my foot off the brake. It immediately rolled back about 1 or 2 inches max and then held. The body actually slightly rocked back and forward again when the wheels were held. I might find a steeper incline somewhere where I can experiment a bit to see when it works and maybe situtations it doesn't that match up with others experiences.

As an update to my last post, I tried this exact same stop in my 2004 Sienna. When idling and in "D" the Sienna continued to roll backward after releasing the brakes, in fact was picking up speed until I hit the gas pedal. A big difference from the way the Camry reacted.
