Removed gas cap leash

Removed gas cap leash
The TCH has been a great car for 17 months and 17,000 miles. I have very few complaints, but I finally had it with the gas cap leash. It was always binding, getting in the way, and not convenient. I finally realized with the gas cap holder integral to the inside of the gas door, the leash was redundant. I've ripped it off. Much better.

Agreed. You reminded me that this was a real PITA last winter when the "leash" would freeze to the point of being rigid and sometime covered with ice so that it was near impossible to open. Just the thing you want to be fooling around with when the windchill is below zero. I'm taking my shears out to the car right now and cutting off that sucker!

Re: Removed gas cap leash
Dealer removed mine after I got a check engine light that would not go out, they reset it and said the code said the cap was not on tight. I checked it as they said before I brought it in, it was tight. Problem has not reoccurred since then six months ago.
