Default Struts @ 60,000 miles

The Camry is my wifes so I don't drive it that often. I have noticed the car floating around a good bit. I had a 09 Camry Rental this past week and after getting back in my Camry I know that the struts are soft. I think it is worse in the rear.

Has anyone else noticed this around this mileage?

BTW no other problems to speak of. I have had the dash rattle (Fixed by local dealer) and the noisy rear brakes while baking up although the have lately disappeared.

I just replace my 2007 TCH (which had 58,xxx miles) with a 2009 TCH. Prior to trading the 2007 in, I noticed oil on the top of the RF strut tower, indicating it was leaking. The 2009 feels like it has new strurts, as when comparing the ride with the '07. I hadn't noticed the softening on the "old" car, as it happens over time. Perhaps your struts are leaking? Hard to tell on the rears.

On the other hand, new struts will feel different than struts with 60,000 miles even if they aren't leaking.

Thanks for the Reply. I think the extra junk in the trunk does not help. Where did you visually see the oil? Under the wheel well at the top?

The oil was on top, inside the engine compartment...and could be easily seen with the hood open. It looked like old that had been coated with dust, while the other side looked relatively clean in comparison.
