Actually my dealership has a salesperson that is VERY hybrid savvy he just wasn't MY salesperson. I only deal with the "General Manager" and "Sales Manager".

Thumbs up Re: Who knew more?

I had already done extensive research and gone for a test drive with a different dealer (who couldn't get me a car before the tax credit deadline), so I would say I knew almost as much as my salesperson, who was the hybrid-specialist at this particular dealership. However, he did tell me a few things I didn't know about the car, such as some of the bluetooth commands.

But for you Californians, the biggest thing my dealer did not know that I found out thru my own research is that the HV battery is covered for 10yrs/150k in California, not just 8yrs/100k like everywhere else. Also, your emissions (smog) is guaranteed for 15yrs/150k, if you ever fail a smog test before that, Toyota will fix it under warranty. See your Warranty Information booklet for more details about what is covered in California.

I was very impressed on the knowledge our salesperson did have. However, I had been researching for three months by the time we bought ours that I knew more of the finer details.

Our salesman called me after having the car for one month and wanted to know what I had told him about Toyota not standing behind non factory leather. He had a TCH with cloth and the customer he was working with was going to buy it, but preferred leather. I reminded him that Central Atlantic Toyota sent memos to their dealers cautioning them against non factory leather due to the liability issue if the air bags did not deploy. I was really impressed that he called me.
