I have a picture on my camera phone showing a tank average of my lovely TCH at 86.6 MPG...but I'm too cheap to send it to anybody (hey, it costs me 25 cents...ouch!)

How did I get such fuel effeciency? By filling the tank and immediately rolling down a big hill. You'll notice my signature milage is 36.??, which is only my first tank. Time will tell the ultimate average.

Hehe, good one. I wonder how the Mileage Police would ever be able to catch that clever of a hyper-miler ploy! Maybe someone will break the 200 MPG barrier soon. That would be excellent.

Click image to see close-up. Here's a pic of my 49-mile driving segment of 57.3 MPG at the start of my second tank. Fuel filled to cut-off... note the needle is still well above the full mark!

To the Mileage Police, regarding my May 27, 2006 post, "How I got 57.4 MPG in my Camry Hybrid," the attached pic reflects four additional miles driven (49 miles vs. 45 miles) and .1 MPG reduction (57.3 MPG vs. 57.4 MPG).

I agree, Steve has posted lots of good stuff that I've learned a lot from. Steve - I believe you - no pictures needed. Except for that picture on all your posts, keep that one!

GreenHawaii

I thought it would be nice to use my real name and a personal pic instead of another Camry 'glamour shot' (LOLOL)... a reminder that behind every Camry Hybrid is a real person.

Camrys are great... but Camry OWNERS are amaaaazing.

Well I gotta say it sure beats Hot Georgia's picture...but Hot Georgia, I love Austin Powers movies too

It would be kind of cool to see what all the TCH owners look like, wouldn't it? Or even how many owners are male or female?

What? You don't like Fat Bass?
Well I admit to knowing it's not exactly flattering, but I have a kind of odd streak anyway.
Ok I've posted a new one. I was probably going to change it soon anyway, but usually leave them up for a longer time.

I don't post my own ugly mug for privacy reasons. I've already made too many things public about my personal life.

I'm surprised to see how much controversy that Steve's claim of ~2x the average mileage can generate, especially for a very short run. I'm old enough to remember the Mobil Economy Runs, where cars through careful driving technique would achieve 2-3 times the average mileage for the particular model being driven. A quick search of the web shows achieved mileages from 31 mpg to nearly 80 mpg, over thousands of miles. The economy runs ended in the mid-sixties, so this was phenomenal mileage considering how primitive and heavy the cars were then.

I probably wouldn't raise an eyebrow until someone claimed three times the average mpg, but that's still within the range of what I think is possible, without modifying the car.

I once replied to a thread in an Ody forum about best MPG over a short freeway trip. I posted how I had recently got 30.3 mpg over an ~80 mile RT. I got a response that said "nice numbers--next time snap a pic."

The funny thing is that the EPA numbers on the 2005+ Odyssey w/ VCM are only 20/28. I beat the highway number by a meager 8% and my number was and still is the highest posted in the thread.
