I like the ride of the HiHy, it is firm without being harsh and well controlled which was a nice surprise. Our 99 Landcruiser which the HiHy replaced was too soft and wallowy and usually made me carsick when I drove it.
The best ride quality among my 7 passenger vehicles is my 87 Mercedes biodiesel wagon. The suspension really controls the bumps, it has great anti-dive/squat control and is rock solid stable on the highway. And this is a 20 year old car with 150k miles.
The worst is my 99 Chevy K2500 biodiesel Suburban. You just crash over bumps, and it takes all your effort to keep the truck pointed in the direction you want to go. I really hate driving this truck so its usually just parked for months at a time, but when we go on a roadtrip with everyone and the dog or tow the trailer or haul the 4x8' of plywood it comes in handy.

We just drove thru the ice and snow storm that hit denver ,( Dec 22 ) we drove for 2 1/2 hours of glare ice and the VDIM system really worked good. there were cars and trucks in the ditches and rolled over everywere but we made it OK. I had wished I had the 4wd model but I really didnt need it.
