Hello,
Has anyone experience the gauge cluster shutting down while driving? My 09 Silverado Hybrid is about six months old and this weekend while driving the Brake light and Airbag light came on at the same time All gauges stopped working including the DIC. After stopping for breakfast and re starting everything is back to normal.

Dealer claims there are no codes recorded so they can’t do anything to fix it to prevent future issues.

 

I heard something like this, but on a Tahoe, that a device was installed for the purpose of viewing movies while driving. Also no Codes Recorded, and gave fits to the techs, but no malfunction at all.

Never heard that in a Silverado.

 

Thanks for the input Time. I know what you are talking about, (LockPick devise). I have not installled any aftermarket devises and no other mechanic has work on my truck other than the dealer. Its interesting that they did ask me if I had installed any AM stuff so they must be aware of what you are talking about.

 

Did you ever find out what the problem was? I had the same thing happen tonight. A few times I have noticed a whine that changed as the RPM's changed and I am wondering if it is related.

 

No I never did find out and it has not happened since. Probably will some day when I am on a long trip or out of town. Now I have an engine light on so it will be back to the dreaded dealer again. Is yours the same make and model? Let me know if you find out what casued it.
