Both my '07 TCH and XLE need resetting after an oil change. What I don't like is that the dealer ends up resetting Trip A as well. Can the oil change reminder be reset without resetting Trip A? I use both trip odometers.

Nope, the procedure requires it to be set on trip a, and thus it is reset.

I personally feel changine the oil every 3,000 miles is a waste, and the oil change duration should be between 7500 and 10,000 miles, but I will do mine every 5,000 to keep toyota happy until it is out of warranty.

Some would call extending the oil change interval being penny wise and dollar foolish. Personally I think frequent oil changes are cheap insurance for those who keep their cars past warrantee.

Yes, but with a proper oil analysis program, you can know if the oil needs to be changed, or if you are just guessing on when it needs to be changed. Our hybrid ICEes live a very easy life and do not stress the oil much, so 10,000 miles on synthetic oil would not be a problem in my mind.
