Transmission Temperature over 185 degree while on auto stop

Omar, have you watched the temp after you started driving again. I first experienced kind of what Marty described in a 68 Camaro that I had equipped with a mechanical engine temp gauge. With all the electronic gauges we don't see what happens after the key is off. I noticed right away with the old one the temperature would go up 30-50 degress after the engine was off and the coolant stopped moving. Upon restarting the engine the temp would go back down fairly quickly. Please advise.
