I bought the stuff to build the new homebrew grid charger, by the way. Where is the best instructions for this thing? Have you got a link? Thanks

Wire the AC inputs in parallel to an old extension cord or computer power supply cable. I probably have a dozen of these laying around, so I always assume folks have 1 or 2. Crimped ring terminals are also handy.

Wire the DC output in series:
Batt(+)----(|)diode----fuse---(+)PS1(-)-----(+)PS2(-)---(|)diode---Batt(-)

Diode stripe (|) is always in the (+) direction.

You can make all connections with wire nuts. Put some shrink over the diode legs, so there's no exposure to HV.

So I had to move the car out if the garage today. I didn't expect it to do this, but it did not put out the ima error and it began charging the hybrid battery. The voltage from the cigarette lighter volt meter showed 13.9-14.4 so it was charging the car battery too. I had to go to work so I moved it then cut off the car then left in my other vehicle. Should I crank it again and let the car do the charging to proceed with what I'm doing?

Start and idle charge until it stops. Disconnect 12V for 2 minutes. Reconnect. Start and idle charge again, repeat for a total of 3 chgs

Those 3 charges have been shot into the ima batteries. The system ran for 8 minutes before stopping the charging it was doing. It did that all 3 times. What's next with the batteries inside my pack? My loose batteries have been sitting almost a week now so I'll start volt-metering and load testing those very soon.

Each charge should have taken less time than the previous charge. The 3rd one is usually finished in less than a minute.

What's next with the batteries in the pack is to proceed as previously planned. Grid charge pack to give the same equivalent charge as the formation charge, and repeat the same testing on them as the loose subpacks.

The goal is to have 22 pieces of identical data from which to select the best 11 candidates for rebuild.

OK so i know im jumping around from thing to thing... but.. I ran my load tester thing and voltage before/ after, filled out the spreadsheet ...i've got my turnigies hooked up for cycling now.. not sure what to run on them or how to run them...

i'm powering my first turnigy with subpack1 and i have it hooked to output to subpack 2.. and i've configured regenerative discharge for 7amp and 12 volts.. and its running... i guess when it finishes i record duration... then do i power the tunigy with subpack 2 and hook it to output to subpack 3 and record that duration number when it finishes? and keep going? i'd like to work both turnigies simultaneously if there is a way to do it to save time... im just not clear on this part

You need to stop.

You need to share your sheet.

You need to follow the explicit step by step directions in post #16.

EDIT: You need to READ the steps in #16 and understand them. You should stop all activity.

I read # 16 about 8-12 times so far ... I probably need to read it some more times...

important notes: i load tested for 30 seconds, not 15, and wasn't religious about cooldown time, also, i need to submit that i believe my voltage numbers are heavily influenced by how fast i could get my probes from my voltmeter placed and then how long i would allow myself to wait before settling on which number to write down as the voltage was always still climbing (i'm talking about the Ve number here)

1g Vs 8.13 Ve 7.68
1o Vs 8.16 Ve 7.66
2g Vs 8.02 Ve 7.61
2o Vs 8.12 Ve 7.7
3g Vs 8.19 Ve 7.66
3o Vs 8.17 Ve 7.6
4g Vs 8.19 Ve 7.6
4o Vs 8.16 Ve 7.6
5g Vs 8.15 Ve 7.6
5o Vs 8.18 Ve 7.63
6g Vs 8.00 Ve 7.59
6o Vs 8.19 Ve 7.56
7g Vs 8.16 Ve 7.6
7o Vs 8.17 Ve 7.6
8g Vs 8.18 Ve 7.61
8o Vs 8.18 Ve 7.61
9g Vs 8.18 Ve 7.6
9o Vs 8.18 Ve 7.6
10g Vs 8.1 Ve 7.6
10o Vs 8.16 Ve 7.6
11g Vs 8.16 Ve 7.6
11o Vs 8.16 Ve 7.6

I have my own thoughts about these results... but.. I think more importantly, what are yours?
