2006 HCH - New Hybrid Battery but MPG is low & system acts weird
Hello, just put a new remanufactured hybrid battery from Greentec.com in. IMA/CEL is gone now but MPG is only like 30-35 & it doesn't seem like the hybrid system is using the battery correctly.
Its still re-calibrating itself often,
Isnt autostoping at stop lights,
Seems to only lightly assist on start outs up to 3k rpm & then stops sometimes,
Sometimes doesn't recharge when coasting downhill or braking, but will sometimes decide to start recharging itself while climbing a hill,
they said it was only on the self for less then a week before being sold to me. and the battery itself i know is fully charged. I left it on my grid charger for like 16 hours before installing it. so i doubt its that out of balance...
I've read about a software "update" designed to extend the life of the hybrid battery may be the cause of this. Is it possible to have a dealer flash update the ecu to the better mpg version of the software?
Thanks
Wes
